The last two weeks we had a stand at two great table-top gaming fairs: MoxCon in Alkmaar and Noorderspel in Groningen. Both were at an amazing and similar type of venue; a beautiful church in the downtown area. For us it was an exiting time as this was the first time we were present at a gaming fair with our own Brothers in Games stand and games!
One week before the first fair of MoxCon we also launched our second game: Snakers. A real family game! And we were eager to show and bring Snakers but also Slava to the public.
First up was MoxCon! A little anxious, exited and hyped (from all the coffee lol) we went to Alkmaar early morning to setup our stand. What we immediately noticed was the great atmosphere among the organization and stand holders. Great vibes and meeting some awesome people! The doors opened at 10:00 and from around 10:30 till closing at 17:00 we had our playing tables full with players and people that were interested and buying our games. The positive responses and support were heart warming and we will definitely be back for next year’s edition! An awesome first dip in the world of gaming fairs.
Next up was Noorderspel in Groningen. In terms of visitors and amount of games a little bigger then MoxCon. (Approx 2000 visitors) There were also some local (Dutch) legends there like Bastiaan Nox of Nox Spellenzolder. Or of course Kim Hoetjes-Mulders from WirWar who organizes Noorderspel. WirWar probably holds the title of the oldest gaming store in The Netherlands.
The setup was a little different because all the sales were handled by WirWar so we could focus purely on playing and experiencing Slava and Snakers with the audience. A great setup that brought something amazing as well. From the 120 games being sold at the fair Slava ranked 6th! Which is amazing and we are humbled by the enthusiasm. We only received the top 10 games so far but based on the sales we expect Snakers also made the top 30. So in all we very happy that our games resonate with players and these fairs have given us the confidence and energy to keep going and continue creating awesome games!
Below some visuals of the fairs and our stand. See you next time!
